Terrazzo Floor Design
Location – Orlando Repertory Theater
Client – City of Orlando
Delivery – Creating a design like this using Terrazzo technique requires highly skilled craftsmen that use these colored mixes of marble, quartz and glass mixed with a cement-like binder and pigment to fill in each colored area. The design is mapped out with templates and then metal strips are put in place to define each area of the design. When the mix is leveled out by hand and has cured, it is then ground and polished smooth and coated with clear top coating.
